| Biomaterial Tracking and Management (BTM™) - Research
Daedalus Software, Inc. has introduced more system flexibilities into the previously available BTM™ 2.0 which was developed in collaboration with Henry Ford Health Systems (HFHS) . BTM™ 3.0 is a comprehensive new approach to sample repository management.
The web-enabled, windows-based interactive software now allows for defining user groups. Each user group can have a user-defined workflow to shadow the existing laboratory environment contours through seamless integration with a range of mission critical, enterprise applications. And each user group can be given a specific level of security provision, down to data field levels. This is critical because it expedites user acceptance and increases productivity gains.
The software has been developed to manage all information from donor sourcing to sample dissemination. It provides repositories comprehensive internal information and sample tracking capabilities. The system enables fully auditable laboratory automation, and is backed up with the latest secure management control to meet the requirements of a regulated environment. BTM™ 3.0 can provide restrictions to allow only authorized users to search within restricted fields for data availability on specimens. The repository management determines these restrictions. The search criteria can be defined by each authorized user (user-defined specification). Another feature of BTM™ 3.0 is its clinical documentation capability. It incorporates gross and microscopic images and radiographs of banked specimen. It also offers a query option employing ICD and SNOMED coding systems.
BTM™ 3.0 is designed to use bar-code technology, perform queries initiated by qualified authenticated investigators/ researchers, maintain a real-time inventory of banked bio-samples, identify specific locations of tissue in storage areas, generate reports and maintain database of researchers and their requests. It has a comprehensive audit trail of all activities for security purposes.
